Fund Raising Weekend

Well, what a great weekend we had launching our GlastonBeoley fundraising in preparation for our charity music festival next year!

We managed to raise £636:50 this weekend on the raffle, glamming people up with face glitter, massaging feet, and a few unexpected on the spot donations!

There will be more to come as we start collecting the sponsorship money in from all our amazing spinners! We will keep you posted.

It’s not too late to donate – it is going to be a long journey to raise the funds to put on next years festival. If you want to help out please do feel free to put a few quid in the pot here

A HUGE thanks goes out to all of our spinners, to Kate for the use of her spin bikes and all the stints she did and encouragement she gave, to Liz and all the staff in the pub for cycling and serving pints and cycling and serving pints (!), to all of those who donated or contributed over the weekend, and – absolutely not forgetting the excellent musicians who came, played for free and entertained a packed pub of people for 8 of the 24 hours (we love you guys xx).

We are proud to announce the charities that we will be supporting with the proceeds of next years event…..

Local charities

Redditch Nightstop – a charity for young homeless people in Redditch

Charlotte and Craig Saving Hearts Foundation – a local charity that provides defibrillators and training in the community.

Inspire, Redditch – a Winyates based organisation offering training, support, counselling, family activities and more

And a national charity

The Sophie Lancaster Foundation – A charity set up after the death of Sophie, who was brutally beaten and subsequently died. The Sophie Lancaster Foundation work tirelessly with schools and police forces across the country, in an attempt to provide much needed information and awareness about bullying and hate crimes involving those from ‘subcultures’.

We would like to thank each and every one of you who nominated specific charities. We hope there is something within the range of charities that everyone will connect with at some level.

Our next fundraising event is a music quiz on Saturday 13th October. The last one we did was a big hit and so much fun, so get it in your diaries now!
